Nine Serbian Houses Robbed in Kosovo: Two Houses Targeted in Batuse Village - Serbs Living in Fear
Two Serbian houses in the village of Batuse were targeted by thieves tonight, while on Saturday evening, the Mitic family home in Laplje Selo was broken into and valuable jewelry and laptops were stolen, according to the Office for Kosovo and Metohija of the Government of Serbia.

This continues the recent series of break-ins and robberies of Serbian homes, which has become more frequent in recent weeks. The Office points out that this not only sends a message that Serbs are unwelcome, but also directly threatens their livelihoods.
At the entrance to Batuse village from the direction of Lepina, Davor Delić's house was broken into and searched while the family was attending a celebration in central Serbia. The family has three children, and this unfortunate incident has caused unrest and fear, not only in the Delić household, but also among their neighbors and other Serbs living in the village.
The home of Saša Lazić's family was also targeted by thieves tonight. Fortunately, their son Stefan interrupted the burglars as they were trying to break a window and enter the house. They fled in the direction of the nearby Albanian village of Dobreva.
Last night, the house of the Serbian Mitić family from Laplje Selo, near Gračanica, was also robbed. Dragica Mitić, whose house was burglarized, reported the incident to Tanjug earlier tonight.
According to her statement, the robbery occurred on Saturday between 6 and 8 pm, when the family was not at home.
Last weekend, two Serbian houses were also burglarized - those of the Mirić family from Batusa and the Nedeljković family from Preoce. This series of thefts has alarmed and distressed the Serbian community, and the fact that the perpetrators have not been apprehended in any of the cases adds further unrest and outrage among the people.
As a result, the Office for Kosovo and Metohija demands that the attacks on Serbian property be taken with the utmost seriousness, that those responsible be prosecuted and adequately punished, as stated in the press release.
